The Energy Transition

The path to decarbonization has never looked clearer. But balancing load growth from the electrification of home heating and EVs as well as the integration of DERs is critical to both utilities and customers.

Demand flexibility

Traditional demand response programs will not be sufficient to meet reliability goals. Demand flexibility promises continuous automation of demand side load to better calibrate to renewable energy supply.

Smart customers

Proliferation of smart devices and increasing sophistication of controls in residential homes are creating new levers to optimize the grid. But it’s customers not their devices that will impact utility success.
Deliver customer benefits and exceed regulator expectations
The Sense app delivers a real-time experience that engages customers and empowers them to make changes that impact how and when they consume energy, helping customers lower their bills and meet shared climate goals.
Improve customer satisfaction
The Sense app helps utilities improve transparency with their customers by providing detailed and timely information about how energy is used in the home, delivered proactively in a mobile app.

The Sense app is proven to increase a utility’s customer satisfaction ratings significantly. In a recent test, 57% of customers had an improved opinion of their utility after using the Sense app.
Meet carbon
reduction goals
As the electrification of residential homes grows, utilities need to engage customers when there are shifts in energy resource availability and demand from the decarbonized grid. With real-time awareness of their homes, Sense users respond to demand flexibility programs and opt into home energy automation that addresses their preferences and goals.
